December 4, 2012

One person was injured following a single vehicle accident early Friday morning.

According to the Bryson City Post of the Highway Patrol, a 1996 Chevy car driven by Anita Alderman, age 26, of Franklin crashed into several larges rocks on Battle Branch Road around 12:19 a.m. Friday.

The Highway Patrol indicates Alderman had four passengers riding in the vehicle as she was traveling southwest on Battle Branch Road. The driver crossed the center line after attempting to dodge something in the road, traveled off the roadway, striking several rocks before the car went airborne over the rocks and landed on piece of abandoned property.

One 26-year old passenger did sustain minor injuries and was taken to Angel Medical Center.

The driver was charged with left of center and driving without a license.
