Macon students back in class
Monday was the first day of school in Macon County as some 4400 students went back to class for the 2013-2014 academic year.
This academic year will mark the first with Dr. Chris Baldwin as superintendent, who says he is looking forward to great year.
“I’m excited to welcome everyone back to Macon County schools. Our teachers have worked extremely hard in preparation for our students’ arrival.”
Drivers are asked to keep an eye out for school buses back on the roads—paying special attention at times when buses load and unload students.
Seeing friends, lunch, recess, computers, Legos, math, and writing were some of the responses we heard when we asked local students what they were most excited about this school year.
