Concerned citizens of Macon County are planning a meeting with State Senator Jim Davis this afternoon at 5:15 p.m.

They want to talk to him about growing concerns of synthetic drugs and their impact on local youth. The products, sold in Macon County, harbor dangerous side effects, and are highly addictive.

The concerned residents are hoping Senator Davis will help get a law passed banning the sale of the products that go by names such as K2 and Spice.

The meeting is planned to be held at the Sheriff’s Office.
