Driver hurt after collision

July 12, 2013

A Franklin woman is reportedly injured after a near head-on collision in the Cowee Community Monday afternoon.

According to the Bryson City Post of the Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Goshen Road at approximately 4:24 p.m. Troopers indicate 56-year-old Debra Wilson was traveling west in a 2011 Nissan SUV when she crossed the center line in a curve and struck an oncoming 2001 Dodge pickup, driven by 36-year-old Grace Kim, of Franklin. Kim’s truck was hit in the left front quarter panel. Wilson’s SUV then traveled off the right side of the road, down an embankment, overturned and came to rest against several trees. She sustained evident injuries.

Kim remained on the roadway and was not hurt.

The Highway Patrol says inattention was a contributing factor in the wreck.
