Franklin man killed in accident in Jackson County

According to a report from The Sylva Herald, a 27-year-old Franklin man was killed on December 26 in a car accident in Jackson County.

Charles Glen Richardson reportedly struck the entrance sign to Southwestern Community College on NC 116.

High speed and erratic driving appear to have caused the single car wreck according to witnesses and the Highway Patrol.

Authorities suspect alcohol, but are awaiting official results from the state Medical Examiner.
