The Franklin Panther football team will try to stay undefeated on the year as they host North Henderson tonight for homecoming.
The 7-0 Panthers are coming off a victory over rival Smoky Mountain last week, and the Knights, at 3-4, look to bounce back after a tough loss to Tuscola Friday.
Franklin Head Coach Josh Brooks says the team is ready to take on a North Henderson that can be very competitive.
“I feel like North Henderson is making some improvement. They’ve played Swain, Robbinsville, and TC tough and you know what those teams are accomplishing. It’s a really good challenge for us and we feel good about our preparation and hopefully we will carry that over into the game.”
North Henderson boasts WNC’s only 1,000 yard receiver, Cory Foster.
The Panthers will again go without injured senior tailback Marquel Manning, who was thought to possibly return tonight. Manning is still recovering from a bone bruise suffered in the season opener against Murphy.
Tonight is homecoming for Franklin in addition to a special Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony set to take place prior to kickoff.
Franklin and North Henderson get underway at the Pit at 7:30 p.m.
