Helping Macon County residents prepare for a disaster will be a key task for Macon County Public Health during September, which is National Preparedness Month.
The health department is challenging residents to consider one basic preparedness task per day to enhance personal readiness for any type of emergency or disaster.
A daily question or challenge will be posted onto the Macon County Public Health Facebook page on Monday through Friday beginning the week of September 9th. Just visit www.facebook.com/MaconPublicHealth and place your answer to the daily question or challenge under the comment section. Each day you enter, your name will be placed in a weekly drawing for prizes such as an emergency disaster kit, emergency radio, and first aid kit. Winners will be announced each Friday.
Macon Public Health plans to take their message to the fair with preparedness materials and giveaways, offering preparedness packets to children and their parents, and sponsoring an Emergency Preparedness Night class for the public on September 30th.
