Following a court appearance Monday, 53-year old Kathy Paulette Pruitt, of Otto, is now facing a count of first degree murder. Pruitt and her husband Frank Kelly Pruitt have been in custody following a fatal shooting that killed their 34-year old son Robert Pruitt on July 8 on Coweeta Lab Road.
Kathy Pruitt was formally indicted on a count of first degree murder, solicitation to commit first degree murder and assault on a government official. She had been previously charged with misdemeanor counts of assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a minor present and resisting and obstructing an officer.
Pruitt was transported to court Monday from the Macon County Detention Center to receive the additional charges. Kelly Pruitt is expected to appear in court again August 2. He is facing a count of first-degree murder after admitting to 911 dispatchers he shot his son.
