Franklin-based Children’s Advocacy Group KIDS Place announced they’ve raised enough funds to procure a matching grant from The Robert and Polly Dunn Foundation.

Last year, KIDS Place was challenged to raise $20,000 in two months to attain the matching funds—and according to KIDS Place Director Alisa Ashe, with community support, the funds were raised and then some.

A total of $27, 520 was raised with the help of the people of Macon County and the foundation will match KIDS Place penny for penny giving them a total of $55,540.

Ashe says all too often the staff of KIDS Place sees and hears bad news regarding children, but they have been reminded that our community is home to many kind, caring and compassionate individuals.
