A Martin Luther King Day celebration is planned by the Macon County Human Relations Council in Franklin this Sunday at 3 p.m. at the First United Method Church.
This year’s special guest speaker will be Shirley Parks, Principal at East Franklin Elementary. Parks is the first African-American principal in Macon County.
There will also be remarks from Franklin Mayor Joe Collins and School Board Member Gary Shields.
