NC DMV Headquarters experiences power outage, may affect local services

February 8, 2013

The Franklin DMV Office is closed today in order to move to its downtown location in time for Monday—any Maconians needing DMV services will have to travel to Andrews, Bryson City or Sylva. Now there’s word there could be problems at those offices.

A power outage hit the state DMV headquarters Thursday causing sporadic problems and local offices. DMV Officials say the power outage continues today and you should call ahead before visiting an office, “We encourage everybody to call ahead to the office you plan to visit to ensure everything is working smoothly,” said Marge Howell with the NC DMV.
