Panthers one win away from perfect regular season

November 4, 2013

The Franklin Panthers reach 10-0 for just the second time in school history with a win over West Henderson Friday on Senior Night.

The Panthers jumped on the board early after a blocked punt by Kelton Lowry, who recovered the ball, and took it back for a touchdown:

Franklin would find the end zone three more times in the first quarter. Senior tailback Marquel Manning returned to action and rushed for a 17-yard touchdown.

West would score on a pass play late in the game, but the final score from the Pit was 42-7 Franklin. West drops to 0-10 and Franklin will try to finish an unbeaten regular season as they travel to Tuscola this Friday.

A win at Tuscola would virtually lock in a number one seed for the Panthers for the 2-A playoffs.
