Maconians are keeping a close eye on the weather as local rivers and streams are nearing capacity.

Near steady rain has fallen in Macon County over the last two days—nearly four inches have been recorded here at the radio station.

A flood watch remains in effect for southwestern North Carolina through Wednesday morning.

Earlier today, forecasters issued a small creek and stream flood advisory, but that since has expired in Macon County.

The rains are expected to continue this afternoon into tonight. There is also a chance for more rain early Wednesday, and again on Thursdsay.
