SKF seals closing Franklin operation

It was announced this week that a Franklin plant that manufactures industrial seals will be closing.

SKF Sealing Solutions announced the Franklin operation on Industrial Park Road will be transferred to a Kansas Production facility.

Twenty-eight employees will be affected, the company said.

The Franklin Plant manufactures seals for the heavy industrial market serving both original equipment and general distribution customers.

SKF representatives say the end goal is to provide shorter delivery times, high flexibility and the superior customer service demanded in the heavy industrial seal market.

This consolidation process is expected to take place over a period of 18 months.
