Ladies Night December: Keys to manage weight

At the upcoming December 11, 2012 Ladies Night Out Program, the topic will be Weight Management.

In addition to improving quality of life, reaching a healthier body weight is good for overall health and wellbeing. Research shows that being overweight or obese greatly increases the risk for developing many chronic diseases including type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer. The secret to success is making changes and sticking with them. Learning more about preventing further weight gain and maintaining weight loss is sure to come in handy for all of us over the holidays. The guest speaker will be Elizabeth Williams, MS, RD, LDN, Registered Dietician/Clinical Nutritionist Educator, Mission Weight Management Center.

Ladies Night Out is a partnership between Macon County Public Health and Angel Medical Center to provide free monthly programs on a variety of health topics for women with an emphasis on the importance of regular health screenings. The Franklin Bi-Lo and Fatz of Franklin are corporate sponsors of the programs and provide snacks and door prizes each month. Dodge Packaging Specialties, Inc. provides paper products.

This program will be held two times this date in the cafeteria at AMC. One will be at 4:00 p.m. and one will be at 6:30 p.m., so you can choose which one you want to attend. The same presentation will be given at both meetings.
