Kicking the habit, lung tests to be focus of March 26 Ladies Night Out

This month’s Ladies Night Out Program will be today in the cafeteria at Angel Medical Center.

The topic will be Tobacco Cessation, which will include information on the effects of tobacco use and second hand smoke. The guest speaker will be Kim Watson, RN, CDE, Community Education/Cardiac Rehab, Angel Medical Center.

Spirometry is the first and most commonly done lung function test. It measures how much and how quickly you can move air out of your lungs. If you would like to have a spirometry test for lung function before attending the Ladies Night Out meeting, please call or e-mail to make an appointment. (828)349-2426 or Appointments will be made from 2:30 p.m. – 3:50 p.m. and from 5:10 – 6:20 p.m.

We will be having Rada Cutlery and Celebrating Home fundraisers at Ladies Night Out this month. Please help us raise money for our Ladies Night Out Gap Fund so that we can help serve women of our county who would otherwise not receive services.

Remember that there are two meetings. The first meeting will be from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and the second will be from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. The same presentation will be given at both meetings. All women are invited to attend one of these meetings and are asked to encourage all the women in their life, who are over the age of 13 years, to attend with them.

Ladies Night Out is a partnership between Macon County Public Health and Angel Medical Center to provide FREE monthly health education programs to the women of Macon County. Bi-Lo of Franklin, Fatz of Franklin and Dodge Packaging Specialists, are our corporate sponsors and provide refreshments and door prizes each month.
