Lady Panthers beat North Surry, will host third-round playoff game

The Franklin Lady Panthers are heading to the third round of the state 2-A basketball playoffs after a win over North Surry Wednesday night.

Franklin, led by Sara Henson with 23 and Vanessa Agrusa with 17 points, held off the Lady Falcons by a final score of 58-47.

Franklin head coach Scott Hartbarger says his team is a mix of upper and under classmen that have learned how to play well together, “They know what to expect. They watch the upper classmen and starters on the floor, and when they go in and get their chance, they don’t want to let them down. It’s like a family atmosphere and everybody is pulling for each other.”

The Lady Panthers will be at home for Friday’s round three game against the Lexington Lady Yellowjackets, who knocked off the number one seeded Lake Norman Charter on Wednesday.
