Macon, Jackson County Schools Terminate Man After Arrest in Georgia for Inappropriate Contact with a Minor
From Macon County Schools: “Administrators with the Macon County Public School System learned that William Pruitt was arrested on November 12th, 2017 in an incident involving inappropriate contact with a minor. The incident occurred in Columbus, Georgia. Mr. Pruitt worked as a substitute bus driver for Macon County Schools. District administrators can affirm the following concerning this situation:
- William Pruitt has been terminated on November 13th, 2017
- We are fully cooperating with law enforcement in Georgia where the arrest occurred
- At this time we know of no connection between this arrest and Macon County Public Schools
- If anyone has any information regarding Mr. Pruitt please contact the Macon County Sheriff’s Office at 828-349-2104”
According to the Sylva Herald, Pruitt was also employed by the Jackson County School system as a custodian and bus driver. He was also terminated by Jackson County on November 13th.
