Franklin, Cherokee Prepare for Tough Tests in Round 3

Round 3 of the high school football playoffs kicks off all around the state tonight.

The undefeated Franklin Panthers will be hitting the road for the third round matchup with the also undefeated Hibriten Panthers in Lenoir. The winner of the game will play host to the winner of Shelby and Mount Pleasant. You can hear all of the action between Franklin and Hibriten on 104.9 and 1050 WFSC, with kickoff set for 7:30.

The Cherokee Braves will be at home this evening in a 3rd round matchup between the 2 seeded Braves, and the 3 seeded Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy Gryphons in Cherokee. The winner of the Braves – Gryphons game will then take on the winner of Mitchell and Robbinsville. If Mitchell wins, the winner of Cherokee and Thomas Jefferson will travel to Mitchell, while if Robbinsville wins, the winner of Cherokee and Thomas Jefferson will play host in the 4th round. The Braves and Gryphons can be heard on 104.1 WNCC, when the two teams will kick off at 7:30 from Ray Kinsland Stadium.
