Franklin Panthers Softball Team Looks for State Title

The Franklin Panthers Softball Team is preparing for an opportunity to bring home a State Championship.

The Lady Panthers got a thrilling 5-4 victory in the decisive game 3 of the Western Regional Series over the visiting Bunker Hill Lady Bears.

After the game, Panther Softball Head Coach, Adam Tallent said that his team shows no quit, and they’re excited to play for a State Championship, “There’s no give-up in this team. I can honestly say, every game we’ve played this year, they’ve never had that look of giving up, and they didn’t in this game, they came out and proved it. We’re not going to change anything that we’ve been doing all year. We’re going to stick to what we do. We’re not going to worry about any other team, we’re going to stick to us.”

With the win, the Lady Panthers move their record to 24-1 and advance to the State Championship series, and will be taking on the South Granville Vikings who are 26-0 on the year.

The State Championship series is another best of three set, this time all three games will be taking place in Greensboro, at the University of Greensboro’s Softball Complex.

Game 1 of the series will be taking place on Friday evening at 7:30, Game 2 will be on Saturday afternoon at 2 pm, and Game 3, if necessary, will take place Saturday night at 8 pm.

All of the games will be broadcast live on 104.9 and 1050 WFSC, and will be streaming at 1050wfsc.com, wfscradio.com, and on the TuneIn app.
